Your wedding day should be a day of joyous celebration, not a day of stress! The wedding hair and makeup experts at M&D Hair Design in Ringwood will work with you to plan all the details for gorgeous bridal hair and makeup so that you can relax and enjoy the moment when the big day arrives. Follow our helpful timeline below for a step-by-step guide for scheduling all of your pre-wedding appointments.

3 Months Before Your Wedding

Schedule an initial consultation with our bridal experts at M&D Hair Design. This will be a time for us to learn all about your ideas, your theme, and colors, so bring photos of various wedding hair styles that you like as well as photos of your dress, color scheme, and veil if you are planning to wear one. We will create a plan for a beautiful wedding hair style and custom makeup just for you.

Schedule a trial run appointment. A trial run should be planned at least 2 months prior to your wedding day. Our stylists will create a trial version of your wedding hair and makeup so that you can see how it will look before the big day.

Book appointments in advance for wedding hair and makeup services for your actual your wedding day to ensure that our stylists are available on the day of your ceremony. Schedule appointments for the bride as well as for other members of your party, including bridesmaids, the groom, etc.

Book appointments for a facial treatment, waxing, and hair color or highlights.

4 to 6 Weeks Before the Wedding

Visit our hair salon for your trial run hair and makeup appointment (previously scheduled).

Visit the salon for a previously scheduled facial treatment. Our skin care specialist can customize your facial to target any specific skin issues that you may be experiencing. Whether your skin is dry, sensitive, aging, or has other conditions, our professional PCA Skin care formulas will help to cleanse, heal, moisturize and balance your skin for beautiful results.

2 Weeks Before the Wedding

If you are planning for a new hair color, keratin treatment, gloss treatment, highlights or a color touch-up, visit our salon about 2 weeks prior to your wedding day for these services. This will give your hair time to adjust to the new color, treatment, or haircut.

The Week Before the Wedding

Have final eyebrow wax, leg wax, and bikini wax for silky smooth skin. If you are also planning an appointment for a tan, schedule your waxing service before your tanning service.

Have a final facial treatment to cleanse, moisturize and nourish your skin.

The Day Before the Wedding

Get a manicure and pedicure to ensure that your hands and feet look amazing for the ceremony.  For a classic look that will not attract attention away from your face, choose a French manicure or pedicure

Make an appointment for a casual hairstyle for the rehearsal dinner.   Add a makeup application, too, for complete look.

Your Wedding Day

Arrive at our hair salon for your appointment with dry hair. If you have a veil or hair accessories, remember to bring these to your appointment.

Have your wedding hair style or bridal up-style created and bridal make-up applied. Our bridal experts will make sure that you look breathtakingly beautiful as you walk down the aisle!

Nice people overall but need lessons regarding service recovery. my hairdresser did not listen to what I wanted at all. After a 200 dollar bill their idea of service recovery was a free blow out! These are Bergen county prices without the expertise of continued training both in color, cut and customer service. Back to Bergen County I go which saddens me as I do believe in supporting local businesses.

I just moved to the area and I was having anxiety about finding a new stylist. Well no more anxiety because I found Kim at Expressions! She listened (very patiently might I add) to all my requests and cut and styled my hair better than any other time at any other salon. I can't tell you how awesome she is. Expressions is a fun and relaxing environment that you should definitely check out!

We recommend finding some images of hair and makeup for reference for your look to show your stylist before they arrive. Don’t forget to show your stylist your dress, if possible, too! If you would like the stylist to use hair accessories for your look, please have those purchased and ready for use before your consultation.

The consultation prior to your wedding for your hair and makeup will take up to 90 minutes per service. Hair and makeup on your wedding day may take up to 2-hours. If you’d like to adjust your time after your consultation, let us know! However, we suggest booking your appointment far enough in advance that you leave yourself plenty of time to relax, take photos, and enjoy your special day before the ceremony!

We recommend booking your consultation for hair and makeup 2 weeks in advance. We’re happy to book it for any time you prefer, however, booking 2 weeks in advance helps us to guarantee the same stylist will be available for both your consultation and your wedding day.

Yes! Once your wedding date is confirmed, we will coordinate with you and your stylist(s) to confirm a trial date based on everyone’s availability.

You are not required to schedule a consultation with a stylist prior to your wedding day, however, we highly recommend doing so. This is your special day! We want you to be totally comfortable with your look before your wedding day. You’ll feel more confident that your stylist knows what you want and can execute your look quickly on your wedding day by having your consultation done beforehand.

You can if you’d like, but you definitely don’t have to! Our makeup artists can color match your foundation to the skin tone of your body. Many spray tan products do not agree with makeup, so it’s important to know beforehand that there is a risk that the spray tan will cause your foundation to appear blotchy or discolored in photos.

We recommend never waxing or exfoliating the day of or the day before your wedding. We suggest you get your brows done at least 4 days in advance. If you’re planning on getting a facial, do so at least one week prior to your wedding day. This will give your skin the time it needs to heal and recover from waxing, threading, or exfoliating.

Our professional nail technicians will remove residual polish, cut and shape nails and clean up cuticles followed by a pampering hand massage. A quality-grade polish or gel and quick dry complete the luxurious experience.

We recommend that you remove all gel and polish prior to your appointment. Please email [email protected] if you have any sensitivities or allergies. Be prepared to notify your nail technician of the color that you would like to use for your wedding day nails.

We Will Be Closely Monitoring The Recommendations Of The CDC And Local Public Officials And Look Forward To Reopening Our Doors
